BIOGRAPHY
Edward C. Goodwin is a seasoned leader and dedicated public servant representing District 1 in the North Carolina House of Representatives. With a distinguished career in both military service and law enforcement, Goodwin brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to serving his constituents.
Goodwin's journey in public service began with his distinguished tenure in the US Air Force from 1972 to 1976. During this time, he served as a nuclear weapon specialist, honing his skills in strategic defense and international diplomacy. His expertise led him to become a nuclear weapons treaty inspector, where he traveled extensively, gaining invaluable insights into global security issues.
Following his military service, Goodwin continued his commitment to protecting and serving his country as a special agent for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS). His tenure with NCIS further solidified his dedication to upholding the rule of law and ensuring justice for all.
As Chairman of the Military and Veterans Affairs Committee in the North Carolina House of Representatives, Goodwin leverages his firsthand military experience to advocate for policies that support military personnel, veterans, and their families.
