More than 14 years later, on April 13, 2015, Michelle petitioned that this case be re-opened and requested a hearing to modify child support. She requested that Kendall Latrell Wilkins be added to the order, their third child, and that it should include medical insurance when available through an employer.   (GRANVILLE FILE – 2 (PAGE 24-26)

Michelle was granted $894 per month, plus $90 per month toward an arrearage of $1,788, on May 27, 2015. By November 2015, Wilkins returned to court, as he was laid off when his employer shut down. A new order dated December 31, 2015, put support at $250 per month with back support totaling $2,882. The judge also issued an order to appear and show cause for the past due amount scheduled for February 18, 2016. (GRANVILLE FILE – 2 (PAGES 19-22; PAGES: 9-10; PAGE 7)
Wilkins petitioned to modify child support, specifically relating to his back support obligation, on January 14, 2016, noting that his employment changed on June 15, 2015, but he continued to make consecutive payments and wanted credit for it. He also updated his address with the courts. (GRANVILLE FILE – 1 (PAGES 44-47)

On February 18, 2016, Wilkins waived his right to counsel. On the same day, the judge signed a commitment order for civil contempt, ordering Wilkins to pay $250 before March 17, 2016 ($200 obligation plus $50 toward back support). At the same hearing, the judge denied Wilkins’s modification order, claiming he failed to provide any evidence to warrant a modification.  (GRANVILLE FILE – 1 (PAGES 44; 25)
