She is happily married to Alex Avila with whom she has two wonderful children, David and Katherine. The Avila family have been active members of Providence Baptist Church for 22 years.
Marilyn received a B.S. Degree in Chemistry from Georgia Southern University (formerly Georgia Southern College)
Marilyn began her career in textiles with King Finishing Company. She spent most of her professional career as a chemist in the textile industry. She is also a small business owner of Command Performance/Focus One Hairstyling Salons.
